In this section students get a glimpse of the major languages of India, the scripts, sounds, and the landscape of Indian literature. Our goal is to give students a panorama as well as specific language skills.s

Languages : Students learn to recognize various scripts of India and learn to read Devanagari - the script used in many languages such as Sanskrit, Hindi, and Marathi amongst others. In addition, they also learn Conversational Hindi, in a relaxed and enjoyable manner. This language teaching is conducted at various levels: Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced, and requires no previous background.

Literature : Students will read, hear, narrate and enact stories from India, ancient and contemporary, with the goal of generating the intent of the original storyteller. Students get a glimpse of some important literary works and figures, and are introduced to a map of the classical literary landscape. Advanced students may have an opportunity to dive deep into poetic structures and classical literary criticism.
