Dr. Mukund Lath is a musicologist and a philosopher. He is also a classical vocalist trained under Pandit Jasraj. This week participants will be taken on a musical journey into the melodic and rhythmic structures in the North Indian and South Indian traditions, with brief over-view of major treatise on music. The relationship between theory and practice, and the evolution of Indian Classical music and its aesthetics will also be explored. Dr. Lath is an accomplished vocalist and is expected to elucidate his talks with performance.
